Finally A BIG snow!
All we heard everywhere was that a huge storm was heading our way. It was 'scheduled' to hit around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, which is the beginning of church time.
This was what it looked like before we left for church.
Predictions! And it should go without saying that I was beside myself!
It was a little later than scheduled, but it started around 10. A few of the kids at church ran up to tell me that it was snowing. Pheobe, Nemo, and I ran outside, and we caught snowflakes on our noses and tongues. Then, I had to make my first snow angel of the storm.
Another snow lover, Sarah Whittymore, made her snow angel above mine! I love that she gets as excited as me about the snow!
Two kindred snow spirits. Thanks, Nemo for all the extra pics!
For the rest of the day, I just watched the snow under my warmest blanket with all the sherpa-lined clothes I could find, and a hot drink with dogs surrounding me listening to a book.
The dogs love the snow! Ollie just sits under the oak tree waiting for the squirrels to slip off a limb.
Our Christmas stars are now known as snowflakes.
Measurement of the day's snowfall...a good solid four inches.
beautiful
First look on Monday morning.

I tool a little snow stroll around the yard.
He just wants to be outside looking for squirrels.
I shoveled the sidewalk, turned around and it was covered again.
Claude loves the snow too. The chicken sweater had been a godsend. I know she is warmer and won't turn into a popsicle while outside with the big dogs.
She rolls and jumps all day long.
It is getting deep enough that she has to jump to get anywhere.
Ollie, the snow dog!
An amazing drift in the office window.
I will save you the noise on the video.
The dogs have treed a squirrel. And it sounded like a bunch of little coon dogs with shrill barks. I had to put on my boots to get them inside. I'm sure the neighbors were thankful.

I am rounding up the unofficial measurement in the backyard to 11 inches.
And then it begins! Shoveling a few inches of soft snow on the top and then the rest is wet and heavy. Really heavy!
I love shoveling the snow. Seriously but I realized this was going to be a gigantic job. My friend, Jen, must have been feeling my vibes because she called and said under no circumstances should I try to shovel the driveway by myself. She and Matthew would come and help. They showed up with a shovel and our neighbor's snowplow. We knocked it out in just over an hour. Snow angels for sure. And another snow angel dropped off two bags of salt.
Smiling snow shovelers! Thanks for coming to my rescue!
We were going to finish up Mr. Bill's driveway but he informed us that he had someone coming to do it. Off Jen and Matthew went up the street to do their own driveway. I was lovingly not invited to help.
Thanks again to everyone! It takes a village.
