It's Apple Butter Making Time
At least it is in Preschool! One day I'll make it to Huntington to pick up Jack's apple butter kettle for safekeeping. It means so much to me!
We have been studying apples all month. So today we make apple butter in the crockpot. I can smell it still cooking this minute. We had three guest chefs today. They were so excited to do their part.
They all took a taste of the apple spaghetti we made from the peel of the apple.
Colton managed to make an apple slinky.
Beckett says I spy with my little eye...
Everyone got a chance to use the peeler, corer, and slicer.
Our apples were overflowing but we still were able to add the dry ingredients.
Everyone was more than willing to help with clean-up.
We headed back to the school room for some table work.
Sorting apples was first.
We worked at the Math Table by writing the number two, rolling the die, and adding apples to the ten frames.
Chef Colton still trying to master those pesky scissors.
Beckett took his time and did a really great job sorting his apples.
Bailey worked on the chalkboard.
Colton is having a turn at the Math Table.
Beckett practiced his capital and lowercase letters.
Bailey really concentrating on her cutting skills. Look at those little feet. I think she must be so relaxed.
Colton rolling for all he is worth.
