Penguins And Pinecones

I love books that give me ideas to use in the classroom.  Really most books do but we needed to go outside and run off some energy so the lesson plan I had for the day got a revamp on the spot.

It might look warm with all this sun but it was 11 degrees with a little bit of wind.  So it was cold!!!

We looked under the pine trees down the street but no luck.  Then we went to our friend Katie's house and hit the jackpot...thank you, Jesus!

We learned from watching a YouTube video that we could harvest seeds from a pine cone and plant them.  30 days we should see a sprout.  We are giving it a try.

The boys went to the 'igloo' to count snowballs with our penguin friends.
