Thanksgiving Visit To Happy Church

We loaded the truck up on Friday night in the rain.  At 7AM we met at church and caravaned down to The Happy Church in Jackson KY.  We got there almost on the dot of 10AM.  They were waiting for us and then we started packing food boxes.  Each box had canned veggies, cereal, stuffing pudding, jello, mac and cheese bread...a turkey with a foil pan and pie, a gift card, and lots of love and prayers.

An assembly line for efficiency.

I wish I knew how many boxes Gabe and Mandie packed.  He was having a ball.

Kim was having way too much fun.

Not a good look for me I know.

Muscles!

Waiting to load up in cars and vans to deliver the boxes.

We shared lunch with people from a church in Fort Wayne, Indiana who were spending the weekend working, and people from The Happy Church.  Our group provided lunch for everyone...sloppy Joes with cole slaw, baked beans, chips, and chocolate chip cookies.

After lunch, we split up into two groups...one group of painters and one group of box delivery people.

While we were out delivering boxes and the paint crew was at the house, Gabe and Mandie did some painting at the church.

Gabe met a new friend, Gloria from Indiana.

I'm guessing he was saving his mom from the huge spider that he found on the steps.  My second guess would be that he was cleaning up a spill.

A trip to The Happy Church wouldn't be complete without a selfie with Anna.  She and her friend spent the day in the church van with us delivering boxes.

Gabe has found a new passion!

I wonder if the elves make a kid version of this?
