The Day The Lights Went Out In Wammyville
Mark and I were sitting in the family room and all of a sudden the wires in the backyard started jumping up and down like there were a bunch of monkeys swinging on them. Mark even saw sparks. And then everything went dark. He immediately called Duke. The yahoos came running upstairs to see why the light had gone off in the basement. It wasn't 30 minutes later that a lineman was at the back gate checking out the transformer. Mark got a ding on his phone from Duke saying the power would be on by 2:30 pm. Well, how's that going to make our day different.
Thanks heavens we are campers and have plenty of lanterns!
Preschool was really fun. Everything we did was by lantern light. And we didn't change anything up.
Today it just took a little more teamwork.
We channeled our inner Little House On The Pararie skills.
Lunch was very interesting. No one complained about their food being cold.
Duke was now saying that we could expect our power on by 5:30pm. We counted at one point eight trucks and lots of workers trying to fix our problem.
How many times can you try to turn on lights when there is no power? So many things are just automatic. Then you just shake your head and move on.
Our lights were back on at 2:30pm! Thank you Duke for all you do when troubles occur.
