Straight After Church

Mark and I left Eastside a few minutes early so we could make it home (Huntington, WV) in time to hug some necks, shed some tears and share lots of memories.  Our friend Susan passed away a few weeks ago and her boys wanted to celebrate her life with family and friends from back in the day.

It was amazing to see these children that I remember no taller than my knees...all grown up!

Andy Barber (blue shirt)...is married and has 5 kids!

Cliffy Sullivan (beard and dark dress shirt)...all smiles and can tell a good story.

Lindsay Watkins ( blonde in the black dress)...such the businesswoman, she has her own business...The Lyn-Zen Center.

Laura Sullivan Riegel (dark hair in the front)...I remember her always smiling and being so smart. She lived across the street for one of my good friends in high school.

Laura Campbell Wagner (blue dress)...is a vet tech and sister to Michael Campbell (who was unable to be with us).

Andy Sullivan (behind Laura)...whose claim to fame is still knowing the words to Arch The Angel...a Christmas play the kids at Beverly Hills Baptist put on when they were in elementary.  He and Mark started singing the words.  Priceless!

Then in front of Pappy is Suzanne (Campbell) McAlllister...she and Pappy have known each other from the early days at Seventh Avenue Baptist Church.  Suzanne was the one who lead me to put Jesus in my heart.

We got to hug on lots of other people and got to hear all about what everyone was going.  A bittersweet day for sure.  I am so glad that we were able to go.

Until next time.

Andy had this on his phone.  Crack me up! We were cracking up looking for all the faces that we knew.  The 'kids' at attended the celebration were friends with Cassie, Emmy, and Bryce so there are priceless memories there.  And Camp Cowen was the best place EVER ON THE PLANET!
