Cookie Bake #2
We encourage helpers of all ages! What a load of empty boxes to be filled with hundreds of Jesus Cookies.
Even little sisters can get in on the action.
Who stole the cookie dough from the cookie box? Carolyn, was it you?
Two dozen cookies on each baking sheet lined up ready for their turn in the oven.
There is definitely a system to all this cookie madness!
How in the world did Steve get in with all these ladies? Just kidding. Without his muscle and precision movements (like the one in the pic) we couldn't do it right.
The men take a little breather between switching baked cookies for unbaked ones. They are able to bake tin trays at a time.
That's one sweet cookie monster.
The kitchen crew is always on point. Ready and waiting.
Marsha and I love a good cookie puck.
We always (except for yesterday) pray for the boxes of cookies before they leave the building. It is always bittersweet for me. I love baking cookies for so many reasons. You get to meet people that you have never met. People from other churches and even people you go to church with every Sunday. You build on relationships that you already have. You have lots of fun. You are dead dog tired when you are finished. and you know that these cookies are going to do big things for the residents and all the men of Kairos. As long as we bake cookies for Kairos at Eastside, count me in!
