Walter, Ollie, and Maddie

It is a tradition that the day after Thanksgiving Emmy and I take the dogs to Valley View Nature Preserve for a hike.  I think this is our third year.  This year Ollie was so excited to go!  He needs a little more training in the car.  Seems he believes that he needs to sit on my lap and help me drive.  Nope, no way little buddy.  I had to force him and hold him in the passenger seat.  I even turned on the seat warmer for him.

First things first.  Look what I found!!!

Walter is such a beautiful well behaved dog.  He sits so pretty for pictures.  And then you have Ollie.  He is the most fun dog, full of life and then some but he is like the kids at Wammyville...none of them will look at the camera and smile.

Emmy must have taken 20 shots of him.  And this was the best she could get.

Walter saw something at the far edge of the woods.

And Ollie is just happy to be outside and as close to running free as he can get.  Except for the times he escapes the house or the backyard and runs up Heritage as fast as he can.

Walter likes a good hike too.  Emmy walked with both of them because she is trying to teach him to walk with another dog without getting tangled up...parallel walking.  They both need work.

This sweet dog, Maddie, belongs to Cassie and her family.  She's an old girl and has some health issues.  Cassie has to coax her to go outside and to drink water.  Alaire fed her some peanut butter off a knife last night.  She just can't get comfortable enough to get some good sleep.  Such a sweet girl.
