Happy Church Delivery
We got up early on Saturday morning and headed over to the church. Praying the whole time that we wouldn't get rained on. Ben Gardner brought his trailer so we could pack everything in a covered trailer so in case it did rain it wouldn't get wet.
Steven and Shannon toted everything to the trailer.
Mark and I filled totes the day before and they were really heavy.
The Heitkamp family came to lend a hand also.
With all the extra hands it didn't take long to load.
Loaded and ready to hit the road.
We made it to Happy Church in about three hours. We were 5th in line to unload. There's a church from Tennessee. Samaritan's purse was there. And some other churches that I didn't get where they were from.
They were just unloading a truck of plywood that somebody had donated.
This is where they're storing all the items that are donated. You'll notice that they've torn out the walls up to the windows. That's how high the water was in the building
That looks like a lot of laundry detergent and bleach. But Connie was explaining to Mark that in two days it would all be gone.
We spent some time unloading boxes and straightening up where we could.
Shannon has a Facebook post of the pictures she took and the stories behind the pictures that is excellent. If you want to see that just click on the link here.
We did get to go visit with Anna and her aunt Cassie and Dennis. They have done a lot of work but there's still a ton of work to do. They're still trying to work with FEMA but as of yet have no answers. Anna sent me this...it is her first day of school picture this year. She's a cutie patootie with glasses on.
We will be in contact with them to see what their needs are in the future. I talk to Anna every night after she gets home from school.
Thank you again to everyone that donated and for all the prayers and concern. They still have a tough journey but will be there with them every step of the way.
