Got Up Super Early

 

Sunrise was at 6:19 AM.  And we made it  I was afraid that it would be too overcast.  But God did not disappoint. 

We walked around the point of the island to the Holden Beach Memories mailbox.

We wrote a story in the notebook.  It was a doozie!

Something new to me.  A tree covered with seashells.  I will have to find the origin of this and let you know what it is all about.

The Photo challenge began this morning.  Saffi getting her shot.

 I got my shot.

On the walk back to our piece of the beach, the kids devised a plan to catch a seagull.  There were so many.  They decided to dig a hole...

And Ellis would hide under a beach towel and grab one when he came in to get a cheeseball.  He must have been in that hole for 45 minutes.  Never did catch one but he did get a little nibble on his toe.

Another tradition...ride in the back of the truck about two blocks to Sunset Slush in the heat of the day then head back home for a nap/rest.
