Pizza Cookout
What a night to remember! where to begin...
We combined the Wammyville End of the year party with the neighborhood BBQ (pizza-q).
Jeremy came over the day before with his flour and special dough mixing bowls and made 15 pizza dough balls.
We had menus and Delaney took orders, just like a real pizza kitchen.
The two grills that would do all the work heating up to just the right temperature had to be put under a canopy because of the, you guessed it, rain!
All-day we prayed for good weather. It wasn't looking too good and we got lots of texts from people wanting to know if we were going to cancel. Nope, this party is going to happen rain or shine. So before everyone got here it rained. Then it stopped.
Jeremy and Mark got to cooking.
Then the power went out! 31 people and no lights and no way to see the orders or no way to see to make the pizzas. We got out camping lanterns. Some turned on their phone flashlights. You know make lemonade out of lemons. The power came on sooner than was expected and we were more than thrilled! Thank you, Duke.
Ever tried a Koolickle!? Click the link and try them...some are really good.
The older boys.
The rock box.
We found a unicorn.
Somebody (by bus stop buddy, Wyatt) loves strawberries.
This is what happens when Adilyn finds your phone open to the camera. She took a boatload of wonderful forehead shots.
The whole gang right before the rain came yet again.
We had a blast and I think some new friendships were made. We all can't wait to do it again.
Thank you Wammyville family for everything you do for us. Thank you for letting us love on and teach your babies. Thank you, Katie and Dusty, and boys for coming and always being so fun at the bus stop. Thank you Rachelle and Dave for letting us hike in your woods and pick up your acorns. I love my family.
Let's do it again before school starts in the fall. Maybe a campfire with s'mores? And we can expand the guest list. Thanks, Jason for challenging us to reach out.
