All In A Day's Work

This once was our 'formal' living room.  We aren't formal people by any means but that is what they called it back in the day.  Then once we started on the kitchen reno it became our eat-in formal living room-dining room.  And then Preschool happened so now it is the School Room.  Because a few of the yahoos are in Pre-K, not preschool Wammy, don't you know!

Multi-purpose room for sure.

Morning Preschool with Levi.  I've got to step up my game because he loves a good preschool session.  Always wants more, more, and more.  And Jodi they love all the Sensory Boxes!

You never know what you will be doing at the Writing Center.

He loves a good game.  He doesn't care at all.

But Busy Boxes might be his favorite.

He always says yes to scissors and glue sticks.

Looking for matching winter-themed cards.

Letter of the week is G...G for goat.
(Michael got me the goat neck pillow for Christmas and I love how it looks and feels. Reminds me so much of Boot, Scoot, and Boogie.

This is what the Lunch Room looks like before the organized chaos hits.

The little boys and Pappy go down for a nap while we have preschool for the older boys.

Asher wasn't all that sure ...

Writing practice takes place everywhere.

Louie loves him.  We need to vote on a name for the goat.

Jase's turn in the sensory box.

My friend Shannon is always on the lookout for fun things for the yahoos to do.  This is a huge piece of paper with pictures of different things from around the world.  Lots of teachable moments while the color.

I going to say that using the hole punch and learning to use scissors correctly might be the two hardest skills to learn.  Well, that and tying your shoes but I might leave that to the K teacher.  We work daily on strengthening those little muscles.

We move a lot during our time in preschool.  Work at the table then maybe move on the looking for hidden snowflakes or listening to a story in the dark by the front door.

They can't sit too long but they can spend hours on the floor coloring.

I hope their parents and Kindergarten teachers appreciate all the school practice we are doing.  Here they are putting all their papers neatly on the right side of the Take Home Folders.
It has been a real struggle and a work in progress that might take the rest of the year.

Adi is fresh off the bus from PM K.

She was glad to share the paper dolls with Jase...well, for now, but I guess when Ava comes back it might be a different story.

This is how the 'Gross Motor Room' looks before they come racing down the stairs after breakfast.  We have had to do some rearranging and pitching toys but now I think we have it.  Sometimes it is used as a dark deep cave or a movie theater or even a tent city.  You just never know what theme they will come up with.

All in a day's work.  And this is just one day and not even all of one day.  We have lots of fun!  Never a dull, quiet moment.  We look forward to when we can be outside and run off some of the energy.
