We Survived Day Two

The most important thing we had to do today was to name the crawdad.  Bubbles the fish now has a friend with a name.

Learning how to blow your own nose can really be something of a challenge.

Sometimes to keep Avery safe we have to put him in the little ghetto pool.  Gladys loves it when she can get in a few licks.

The boys playing like they are bats.

Avery can sleep through anything outside but put him in a cool dark room with soothing music playing and he is all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed.

Adilyn and Pappy spent some time in the garden.  Swiss chard for dinner!

Boys and their sticks!

Gabe and Jase were loving on Avery while he was sleeping.  And Jase was singing him a lullaby.

And then he woke up.

This is one dirty boy!  He looks like he has cat whiskers.

Connor is so proud of the picture he drew of his Mom.

Rolling the dice and marking them off!

Connor rolls them like he has been doing it for years in the back alley.

Jase counting to t the number just right.

Practicing recognizing our colors, coloring softly, and color words.

A little trick I say on Facebook that I thought I would give a try.  It worked today and the boys thought it was so funny.

Just a dot.  Not a lot.

Rolling snakes and making S's.

Asher made a flamingo with its mouth open.

Louie and Asher trying to figure out what to do with the chin links.

Levi earned a trip to the Busy Box shelf.

Connor wanted to use the hole punch.

And then the fun began.

All of a sudden everyone was in on the chain gang.

They put a chain together through amazing teamwork and it stretched from my bumper at the top of the driveway down 3/4 of the way to the street.

All that hard work deserved a little snack before Adilyn got off the bus.

And we are back to hanging bats.

It was amazing that not a single shirt was ruined.

I am trying something a little different.  We are starting out the year reading a chapter book.  Did you know a chapter book is a book that has no pictures?  Asher is a little concerned about the cover of the book.  I love the Herdmans and I hope the yahoos do too by the time we finish the book.  We do ready other 'regular' preschool books but when we have snacks I read and the 'lunch room' stays pretty quiet.
