He Didn't Make It

 

The dogs have been digging and snorting and chasing forever a week.  Finally, they got to him.  I saw all three take off into the other flower bed and I knew they had spooked something out.  By the time I got out to the backyard with my boots and a bag he was a goner.

Now my question is, mole, shrew, or a vole?
