Big Day At Preschool

We had some very special visitors today. EVERYONE was super excited!

Making sure that we know what is expected of us when we have guests at the Preschool...best foot forward.

They did an excellent job!  Made this Wammy very proud!

Our firefighter of the day..Mr. Jon (Louie's Dad).

Jon did such a great job.  Down on their level.  Keep it so they could understand what he was telling them.  Repeated the important things a few times.  Answered questions.  Kept everything moving.  Kept their attention.

Explained what it would look like if a fire was in their house.  Talked about feeling the door with the back of their hands to see f it was hot.  And what to do if it was hot.

Told them not to be scared if a firefighter came into their room looking for them.  They should yell out where they were.

This is what a firefighter looks like with almost all of the gear on.

We practiced Stop...Drop...And Roll.

They even had a pledge where they raised their right hands and repeated Jon.  I need a photographer and a videographer for the next 'Field Trip'.  I'm crowd control.  Pappy was the photographer and videographer this time.

Proudly wearing their new fire hats.

Levi and Jase were fading fast.  They got to join us today at PS because it was a special day.

And I know what is coming next.  They had no idea!!!

Thank you Jon Milligan for doing such a great job!  Thanks to Jon Bruce (another firefighter of Wammyville) for giving me the magic phone number.  Thanks to Miami Township Fire and EMS for the driveby.  And last but not least thanks Anna for the great fire engine cookies.

And there is a great story that goes along with a fire detector (that I can't share here) that I will never, ever forget.
