We Are Up To Wednesday
Today was a bittersweet day. We are going to have to say goodbye to PJ. His parents are coming to pick him up then continue to HHI (surprise PJ it was really FL) for their family vacation. (PJ is added to our list of "special grandkids"). So we packed in as much as we could before they got here.
Another beautiful sunrise.
Can't get enough of this.
The rest went back to the house for breakfast but Fiona and I walked down to check on all the turtle nests from the far east end to just past our beach house.
This one looks like it could be soon. It has been collared and there is an indentation in the center.
Looks like some have already made their way on their journey to the Gulf Stream.
Some fun in the sun. PJ when he gets older with a beard.
Sorry this is a little wonky I haven't figured out how to turn it. The kids presented "Jhon" AKA 'My Hero" with a bracelet with his name on it.
We got to eat the fudge pops on the beach.
He will have sand in his hear for weeks.
PJ and Davi became best friends during the week. This was the most generous and kind thing I have seen in a while. Davi gave PJ his soccer jersey!
They are already planning a trip for PJ to Brazil and maybe Davi will be an exchange student in the US and live with PJ.
Pappy surprised us all with a trip to Sunset Slush.
As always delicious!
We all rand the bell because it was good.
Waiting for PJ's parents and they gave us one last dance.
Crab Street...less than 5 minutes from our beach house.
Emmy, it all was perfect!
Andrea with more candy!
All week I had been trying to get everyone to go to Turtle Talk with me. These guys are glad they did. Andrea was the furthermost vacationer.
It is official. She's a graduate!
We had it on inside Intel that they would be closing a nest near us at 8pm. We hustled our selves out of Turtle Talk early so we could see it. Everyone else was to meet us there. They beat us!
Davi got an up lost look at an egg that didn't hatch. Or was it a spacer egg? I can't remember.
After visiting the nest we headed down the road to a new to us ice cream store...Saltwater Shanty. Cross the bridge, turn right at the light and drive until you see the blue lights on the right. We have decided that Saltwater Shanty has the best ice cream in the area.
We got home and Cassie went out on the deck to check on the laundry and came in and said she saw some action on the beach around one of the turtle nests. We broke our necks to get down there. I am so glad we did. We didn't have to wait very long to see some little heads and fins digging their way out of the sand. AMAZING!
The video is dark because there are no flashes allowed...it will make the turtles think the ocean is the wrong way. So red lights are used and not used very much. The moonlight was their beacon.
