Third and Final Cookie Bake of The Year
Sat we met at church at 12:30 and started baking cookies. We baked until around 5:30. I didn't get too many pics because I was tired and my feet and back were killing me ( I dislike getting older very much) being on the concrete floor for that long. But the time seemed to go by fast!
These are some the empty cookie boxes. I didn't get a count of how many we emptied but it was a ton!
Carly Rae getting a cooking lesson.
While the cookies were cooking and cooling Carly made posters. This girl has a heart for Kairos. Last summer with the help of her parents, grandparents, friends, and family she raised over $400 for the ministry. She could talk the socks off an Eskimo.
We had a pretty good system going...like a well-oiled machine.
We did get to sit and rest for a few minutes while the cookies were cooling.
Then they had to be stacked in stacks of four.
Then two dozen were put into gallons size Ziplock baggies.
We were able to use about 13 cookie sheets at a time in the convection oven. But this is how we had to cool them off between bakes. TAke them outside, walkup up and down and swing them like you were swatting flies.
Still adding names to the tree.
These are the banana boxes that will store all the cookies until they need to distributed this weekend.
Somebody has to do it...Quality Control.
Sometimes when the Parchment paper begins to slide off the cookie sheet the cookies might 'taco'. We like those. We got to eat them...sometimes hot right out of the oven! Tough job!
We loaded the bags of cookies int he banana boxes being careful to get the tight count. After that, we prayed over them and of course, got our picture taken.
So this Sunday pray for us as we go into the prison (can't say that was ever on my Bucket List) but it will be happening on Sunday.
