Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My

We got to go to one of my favorite places on the planet...The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens thanks to some dear friends from Huntington.  And we got to go with Amanda, Adi, and Jase!  What could be more fun!!!

My sweet friends, Mark, Cari, and Jenna Reed sent us two tickets that they were not going to be able to use.  Someday I will write about how we met.  It was truly a God thing.

I was so shocked when I found that the huge rhino statue was gone.  But replaced with Bidi and Fiona was an excellent choice.  The Zoo has changed so much since we were here the last time.  And by the looks of all the construction, more changes are in order.

First stop, the Reptile House.  These frogs looked like the plastic frogs that you can buy in the gift shop.

Mark said it was the very first time he had ever been in the Reptile House and all there was movement.  We soon realized that it was feeding time.

Can you see the bird's feet in the snake's mouth?  Gross but so cool at the same time.

Of course, we couldn't resist.

So Jeremy is not on Spring Break this week.  He was working but somehow found time to send us a text saying that he needed pics.  So this is what we sent him of us at the Zoo.  Because we did feel bad after that we kept sending him pics...good ones.

Running to see the manatees.

And here they are.

His feet ARE BIGGER THAN HUGE!

Adi's reflection with Fiona!

I about had to take a mom out because she was being a little impatient and not willing to really wait her turn on the rock.

Bidi keeping a close eye on her baby.

Finally, I get to be eye to eye with Fiona!

Jase roared at the lions.

We had the awesome and most important job of waving to everyone on the train as it went by the bridge.

Adi riding the hippo!

What great weather we had.  What a fun time and we didn't have to pay to park.
Amanda thanks for letting us borrow your family for a Zoo trip.  And Reed's thanks for the opportunity!  Mark even wants to go back next month when the tulips are in bloom.  I'm always game for a trip to the Zoo.
