We❤️Rocks
It was a great day to do some rock painting! We filled three tables and had some great snacks. You should have come! Maybe next time, which is August 25th. That is a Saturday. Eastside Church.
Monica wanted us to help her with a quilt rock. She plans to put it on her desk. I am not sure it will ever get shared and passed around. She loved the finished product but I didn't get a pic.
These ladies are serious when it comes to painting. See the lady in the orange shirt. She gave us a lesson on how to draw a simple tree. It was great. I took notes. And then I plan to either make me a rubberband paintbrush that I can use to make the leaves or I could just go to a craft store and buy one.
These girls are more than ROCKSTARS! Haha. Get it! I overheard them say that they might just be hiding a few rocks around the outside of the church for us to find tomorrow morning.
You talk about some serious painters. These ladies can paint some awesome rocks.
KAt amazes me. She can look at a picture in a book or magazine and magically she has it perfectly on a rock. I remember when she first started she would ask Shannon to pencil draw her a design so she could color it.
How cute are these ladybugs!!! She left them so they can go into the backpacks that our church will be filling with school supplies. If you would like to paint a few rocks at home and share them in the backpacks, please do so. Then find Shannon, Nancy or me and we will make sure they are placed in the bags. We did this last year and the kids when crazy over them!
Judi has an awesome friend that send her this pin that she found or painted. I love it!!!
Several works in progress...WIP
Most of us find our ideas/inspirations on Pinterest.
Some painters use acrylic paints with brushes and some use Sharpies, while others use paint pens. Or a combination of all of them.
One of the trees used in our tree drawing demo.
Sometimes husbands get into finding cool rocks and even painting them Nice job Steve! Now where to hide a rat?
And Shannon found a rock that someone hid in her rock bucket. Triceratops, her favorite dinosaur.
And here are the ROCKERS from today.
And a sampling of the rocks that were painted.
THREE IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
Next paint party is August 25th at Eastside Church starting at 11 and usually, clean-up is finished at 2pm.
Paint some rocks for the backpack ministry. Distribution will be about the second week in August.
Remember to paint, hide and look for rocks wherever you are. And don't forget to post a pic on Facebook on our page...Milford Rocks.
