Sunday Activities and Special People
This is where we spend our time these days. I drive in on Thursday evenings and drive back out on Monday afternoons. This might be my schedule for a while. We aren't quite sure what or where the future will find us but for now here we are. Robin has been quarantined at home because she has viral pink eye. Let me just say it is way, WAY, worse than just plain old pink eye. It is GROSS! She has already had to have her eye membranes scraped, twice! HORRIBLE!!!
Peep likes all of his Christmas toys. Today we worked on the wooden truck.
We sanded and punched out pieces, read directions front and back a few thousand times...
Had a little bit of PT. He struggled to get his legs under him. But he did stand up for a bit...
And then he crashed. He was able to sit in the chair just about all day. That was good.
He sent me to the cafeteria for some soft serve ice cream. this is what I found when I came back. He had punched out all the remaining pieces of our truck puzzle.
And we did it!! Now he wants me to bring it back to Wyngate and he wants Pheobe to paint it for him. I'll need to ask her at breakfast in the morning.
A dear, dear sweet neighbor came to visit! Nothing better than the love and concern from this lady. She was like my second mom growing up. Always a treat to see her!
Dinner is served...meaning a drinking dinner. Oh and how he despises that liquid that is so thick. Thick you might be wondering why? Peep has a little trouble swallowing without getting choked. The doctors are concerned that he could aspirate. He doesn't quite understand what that actually means. He also doesn't realize that he needs to eat protein and all those good vitamins in veggies so he can get stronger. You get stronger and life is a little bit better.
He got to talk to Sam, his youngest great-grandson, Bryce, and Tini tonight just before he got ready to go to bed. Sam even sent him some kisses.
Tomorrow might be the day that we never wanted to come. Some more tough decisions need to be made. We have the help of a hospital social worker who is awesome. So kind. We would love your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Not looking forward to it.
