FINALLY: The Beach!!!

I have been dreaming about "our beach house" for some time now...since we were here three years ago.  I love this house it is perfect.

So out comes the change jar.

On the road at 5:15 AM.Just 15 minutes behind schedule.

First stop is Tamarack in Beckley, WV.  Also first rock drop.

And there are Cassie, Trevor, and Michael right behind us.

This is what we do when we go through a tunnel...raise your feet and hold your breath.

Bet you can never guess where the second stop is....Greensboro, NC.

Alaire loves ketchup so of course, that is where she dropped it!

Our final stop before picking up the key is a tradition.  Patronies Pizza.

And here we are!

Ellis and I head out to see how many turtle nests we can find.  Only two so far on our end of the island.

Sandbar is bigger than we remember.

I am taking Emmy's job this week...up at 5:30 AM to make it down to the Intercoastal Waterway for sunrise.  Sunrise this morning was  6:15 AM.

Too many clouds.

But there were Sandpipers.  And one lone baby. (not pictured)

The pelicans took over part of the sandbar.

This is what we got for a sunrise...reflection on a cloud.  And then the were a few strikes of lightning under all that sunshine.

My new little friend.

Sandcastle construction in front of our house.

Pappy's find!

Huge tunnel construction.

Lunch on the porch with Ellis.

Told you it was huge.

Maybe I got 40 winks in.

Snad fun!  See his muscles?

For Uncle Terry.

Check out her six pack.

I'm guessing she might be looking for another book come Wednesday because she will have this one finished.

Michael giving his two cents.

Yep, in our happy place.

Michael digging 'graves'.

Such construction and planning.

Look out Alaire.

Sword or knife?

After all of that hard work and dinner...

We were off to Haley's to get ice cream.  We even called Peep for his credit card number because he was the ice cream man.  We missed you Peep!

A short walk to the pier.

Ellis and Alaire's last catch of the day.
