Another Day Filled With Adventures

On our way to see the sun rise we stopped for a second to check on the turtle nest.  NOTHING HAPPENING BUT THEY DID COLLAR IT LAST NIGHT.  That means good things are about to happen. Keeping my fingers crossed something happens int he next two days.

Waiting until 6:17 AM.

This little ghost crab was really busy last night.

Our other nest looks exactly the same.

We even drove down to check on the nest from last night on the west end of the island.

Then came back for this entertainment.

Alaire has no chair so she sculpted herself one on the sandbar.

Ellis and I went down to the Intercoastal WAterway to check out the dredging.  This is our attempt of one of those poses you see on Pinterest.  Not bad considering I couldn't see a thing...the sun in my eyes and sunglasses smudged up.

Ellis was so tired that he was about to fall asleep on the sandbar.

We looked for shark teeth but found nothing but a section of a blue crabs leg.

Our annual trip to Fantasy Isle for a game of 'silly golf' and ice cream.  It always starts out with dollar bills.

All children, young and old, lined up to see if they could take some of Pappy's money.

Pappy positions himself close to the cup, ready to hand out dollar bills for those hole-in-ones.
Also if you will notice on top of the log on the left...there might be a rock...I made sure there were plenty of rocks for the families with little ones to find.

Ellis gets the first hole-in-one!  And it was on the first hole.

Alaire trying her luck.

Ready and waiting...

for Trevor to make a hole-in-one.

Alaire doing a little bit of what she loves to do.

And Michael gets his dollar.

Ellis with his second.

We always finish up with an Awards Ceremony.  And then to celebrate...ice cream.  Best of both worlds!

Looks like some good stuff!

Fantasy Isle
Holden Beach, NC

This is not the best pic of the front of the place.  REally nice, family-friendly and super clean.  And we got to talk to the owner.  Really nice!  You can follow them on FB.

And then it is the always popular trip for a beach souvenir.  Wings is usually the place we go.  Michael found something but Ellis and Alaire wanted to go to the new store on the block.  So the Ellis headed for home to do laundry.  The Oakes off to find treasures.
