Finally Getting Around To It
Last year sometime Mark went to the doctor to see about getting an umbilical hernia repaired. Long story short they took out a kidney because the the tumor presented as cancer. Kidney removed...no cancer. Recovery from that was a little challenging. So he has decided that it is time to once again revisit the hernia repair.
Went to the doctors office on Mon. Came home...Wednesday scheduled for surgery.
Oh and what fun did he have from Monday until Wednesday yanking everyones chain. His FB (and mine) are full of sincere get well wishes for those who don't know him all that well and then little kick backs from the people that know him well. We had so much fun reading every word.
And milked it for all he was worth! If only you could have been a fly on thew all.
Emmy brought me snacks and sat with me for a bit. Jen and Ernie Manders came by to give him professional doctor type advice and I sat and waited for this little jewel to go off. He was in the OR for a grand total of 27 minutes. By the time I got to go back on the floor he was up trying to eat crackers. Not much longer we were out the door headed for home.
We were home by 3:30 and walked up the street to the corner and back. Then we took a little rest in the sun on the front porch. Doing great!
Then we had to make a little pit stop at the ER. Seems that his plumbing wasn't working right.
I am just going to go ahead and say that this was the most painful thing I have ever had to watch. Without giving up too much let me just say that a normal person empties their bladder at 300 ml. Mark was holding on to over 1000ml.
So we are home and all is good. Only restriction is that Mark can not under any circumstances pick up anything heavier than a gallon of milk. And he is going camping with the Troop over the weekend.
