Wednesday Was Different

I knew it had been a bad night because I had to give stitch an anxiety pill around 3:30am...nurse to all creatures great and small!  We woke up to this.  The most amazing thing...about eight geese were slowly walking up the field into the storm.  They never took cover

Then the rains really came.  The top water on the river was being pushed in the other direction.  Whitecaps were huge.  Thunder like the rolling thunder at Dale Hollow Lake.  I kept waiting for the damaging hail but it never came.  Thank goodness!  Storms off and on all day long.  Great day for a nap, a movie, and listening to a book.  And we did all of those.

Then came the evening.  I was waiting for Robi to come to relieve me after work.  I kept watching the sky and listening to the weather.  Another big storm on the way.  This time coming from the other direction.  I told you it was a crazy day.

This is the direction that I would be traveling in.  My dad and I made the brilliant decision for me to go on and leave so I could stay ahead of the storm.  He said he would be okay until Robin got there.  Hopefully, he wouldn't have to wait very long.  I'd say we made the right decision.  About 45 minutes from home the sky turned black as midnight.  I was listening to a book on CD so I called and ask Mark to check the weather.  In case I might need to get in a ditch I wanted to know just what I was up against.  The winds were blowing so hard I had two hands gripping the wheel at 10 and 2.  A little scary.  Glad to say I made it home safe and sound.
