A New Chapter..A Hard One To Start

Today the Anderson's are starting a new chapter in their book of life.  It is a very challenging chapter to begin to write.  There were lots of tears, lots of second guessing, lots of what ifs, a few laughs, and a lot of grieving.  It is so hard to witness the true depth of someone grieving.  I have witnessed it times before but nothing like this.  But I know that in the end, everyone will see that it was the right time and right thing to do.

Early this morning Richard and Fred picked up Dewey for breakfast.  Once they left I came with the truck and Betsy and I started loading the truck with the things that Dewey would need for his new place.  We had every nook and cranny filled.  We had a little help from the neighbor across the street with the real heavy stuff.

When we arrived the staff couldn't be more helpful.  Where to begin?

It only took a few hours for us to get everything in place.  There are still some pictures that Betsy wants to put on the walls...we will get those another day.

His room is very nice and comfortable.

Everything in its place and ready for him to arrive.

He has a nice big window.

After their movie was over and we had finished decorating, we all met for a late lunch.  And of course who was the center of attention!

The boys took Dewy to his new digs while Bets and I headed back to her house to pick up her suitcase.  She will be staying with us for a few days until she feels comfortable enough to go home.  We've got some projects to work on and she is going to teach me to crochet.  We are going to go for walks at the Nature Center, farm chores,...who knows what we will end up doing.

The evening report is that Dewey is doing fine.  He cleaned up another man's dinner mess and was sound asleep when the boys went to check on him.  Now we all will be able to sleep better tonight that is for sure. (a little hot tub time helped with all the stress of the day too)

Please keep all the Anderson's in your prayers.  And if you have some free time give Betsy a call or better yet, go visit her.
