Nature Camp...Day 3
My ALL TIME favorite day of the week. WE get to go creekin' in the best little creek on the planet. Always lots to discover. And this year did not disappoint!
But first a little chalk/paintbrush business to take care of.
We explored the difference between wet and dry chalk drawings.
Our 'home base' for the week. And we have two rules at camp...always stay together and have FUN!
Tree bark rubbings
And maybe some tree climbing.
Back to the sand.
Finally the creek!
We had a few that weren't to sure they wanted to get in but in the end everyone splashed their way up stream to the 'sandbar'.
We caught minnows and even a salamander!
And lots of baby crawdads.
Take a closer look...I remember seeing a dead snake. No one saw it.
If he could have gotten all the way and not gotten into trouble I think he would have.
And, well, he did get all the way in...oops. Not to worry I had the garden hose hooked up to rinse us all off.
We also caught water-walkers.
We made our own snacks.
Bet you can't guess what they were?
They were a big hit!
Dirt cups complete with a gummy worm.
BIG hit!
Wonder what she isn't going to tell?
And here is the crazy bunch all together, sitting down in one spot!
See, told you they were crazy!
