Down Come The Leaners
We have saved and waited for thee two trees to come down all year long...well maybe as long as from the time we had the ivy taken out until now...seems like forever. The hackberry had three trunks and was leaning towards the house. We were thinking it would cost less to have the tree taken down before it took out the front part of the house if it ever fell. And then there was the maple that was doing its own leaning act.
After today there is only one leaner left. Guess it will need to hang in there until the summer.
Sawdust was falling like snowflakes.
She was not impressed.
To keep the cost down, Mark hauled all the brush to Bzak. We gave the wood to a family up the street and kept some for campfires.
I think he said that he took 8 loads. Sure wish the chipper worked!
Stump grinder
BIG woodpile that had to be moved and then loaded into the truck to make the short trip up the street to be unloaded at the Marks'. Michael and Cooper moved this pile.
After they yahoos went home we worked until after dark and got everything moved and cleaned up except for four large tree trunk sections that I am going to use in the backyard. Mark wants to till up where the stumps were. I am all for just raking over it and taking the chips to the backyard for use in the garden. That's for another day.
