FREE Zoo....Why Yes I Want To Go!

Casie and the kids have been telling me about this free zoo that is in a residential section of town.  I think it is in West Lafayette but it could be just in Lafayette.  Anyway it is free so we went before Ellis's soccer game.  Oh My Goodness!  We has so much fun.  We were about the only ones there.

The first thing that we had to see...Ellis and Alaire were just a little beyond excited for us to experience all this zoo had to offer.  It is a walk-in, up close and personal habitat with Wallabies.  But first there were birds.

There were about 8 wallabies just eating and jumping all around, across the path, right be side us.  We could have pet them but the zookeeper was right there so we didn't.  All at once  a little head popped out of the pouch right in front of me.  I about peed my pants.  How awesome is that!

The had eagles...bald eagles that were about 10 feet from us not in a cage!

There were three of the craziest sea otters.  I tried to get a pic of them in the see through tunnel they swam to.  But just imagine Ellis, Alaire, And good old big Wammy smushed into this clear tube...I'm thinking Cassie may use the pic for blackmail some day.

Then there was a little farm...okay I lost it about then.

I have a silver laced Wyandotte.  Next batch of chickens I am for sure adding a golden laced Wyandotte.

And the baby goats lined up for me to love on them!

And I found out that at the end of the season they sell the goats!  And yes my name is on the list.  This is my second choice of a goat.  I'm looking for micro goats.

They loved Alaire...she had food.

I could have stayed the rest of the weekend right there on that rock holding goats.  I did't even cared about the rain.

Look at that sweet baby!

Their eyes are so unusual.

Think maybe I would want this little thing to eat somewhere else.  Look at the size of those teeth!

Ellis training his trick goat.

I really need/want one of these in the backyard.

These two were crazy active.  They only stopped long enough to get a little breath and then it was back to their game  of chase all around the enclosure.

This area once was a waterpark but now it is a really nice park.  I loved this slide.  I think it might have been orgional to the waterpark.  Take a closer look and see what is on the stairs and down the slide.  Very interesting.
