Another Day On The Little Miami

Running the van shuttle is the hardest part of this trip to date.  Takes two vehicles.  Two drivers.  Drop off kayaks at put in.  Drive to take out and leave one vehicle.  Drive back to put in.  Actually get on the river and kayak down to the take out.  Take out and put two kayaks on the truck..  Drive back to the put in to pick up second vehicle.  Take both vehicles to takeout and load kayaks for trip home.

First one in the river.  Giving him a little extra time to get use to his boat.

Michael has now inherited Mark's old kayak.  And he loves it.  Relaxed as I have ever seen him on the river.

Mark and his new boat.

And they are off.

We stopped for a little swim time today.  We looked for crawdads and found some bullfrog tadpoles.  We are thinking about bringing nets the next time.  Don't worry the water is only about 6 inches deep here.

Sunning on my new ride.  I look like a river rat.

The 'ripple's behind the Legion are the biggest and best on this section of the river.  Now Skyler is talking whitewater rafting!

He's hooked!

He loves it!

Michael came down the right side of the river behind Dr. Guju's office.  Water was just a little low but he made it out with no problem...well maybe there was a little schooching along.

It was a great day.  River not crowded.  Weather not to hot and everyone was happy.  Now Mark is planning an all boys trip next week before school starts.  Now wouldn't you want to be a fish in the water for that one?
