Coming Home From Scout Camp

Early Saturday morning we head back to camp to get the boys. I load up on fabric dryer sheets, Febreeze, and Yankee Candle smelly things.

I love driving the boys back and forth to Scout Camp each year.  Each year we stop at the same place for lunch and Shann tires to eat more potatoes than he did the year before.  Then on the return trip they buy their Ski at the Camp Store and their parents pack a little ride home goodie bag.  I always put it in their same seat from year to year...TRADITION!

I'm going to guess that this is a carving of Chief Logan.

We get to the Yuma Campsite to find everything packed up and ready to go.

Everyone headed out...

Or I should say headed to the Camp Store.  The scouts get 20 minutes to spend the last of their money.  Most of them buy Ski...a drink with more caffeine in it that Mountain Dew if that is possible.

Several of the boys came to me and asked me to take a picture 'of nature.'

The waiting area.

Great idea for next camp out.

Headed to the van and the care packages.

Airing it out before they get in.

Chit chat and laughter for about 10 miles then everyone settles into what they like to do best.

Counting to 18 using binary numbers.

Michael wrote a haiku about his week.

Summer Camp
The mud is wet
That our feet cannot withstand
The pain of trenchfoot.

If you would like to see the send off, Parents Night, and more coming home pictures Please got to the scout webpage on FB...Troop 468-Milford.  (it is the one with the old group picture)

Hey Peep, Michael earned three merit badges this camp.  We are well on our way to becoming a Star Scout!
