They Showed Up
We were out working in the yard and I see a streak of blue fly through the yard...the bluebirds are back. We have three that have returned. A mom and dad and one son. They are a little skittish yet but I have been giving then live mealworms so they should be getting used to me making trips to the feeder and my camera.
From clear across the yard I say a little bit of blue in the neighbors trees.
I count three...mom, dad, and son!
I ran as fast as I could to the refrigerator in the garage for some meal worms. And yes we has some and they were still wiggling!
I carefully and very so slowly walked to the biggest feeder in the back flower bed. I hid behind it to take these shots because we all need to get use to each other and I need to figure out their feeding schedule. Not only do I have to work about the dog, the girls, the rabbit...just add bluebirds to the list. Not to mention that I am always on the look out for those predator birds that lurk in the trees.
And they are already building a nest in one of the boxes! I checked!
Thinking I might need to give him a few extra meal worms! He's a skinny one!
