Summer Camp Is Finally Here!

Michael by no means is a morning person.  Never was. Never will be unless it is Summer Camp time.  This morning he was up at 6:30AM...dressed and bed made.  He walked around the house in circles for awhile saying, "only 4 more hours."  He loves camp!  I think he slept in his clothes!

Ready to hit the trail.

Sporting a new hat!

 Organized chaos!

Sometimes it is a little hard to say goodbye.  But the good thing is once he was in the car he perked right up and started acting like himself.

This kid is ready for anything!

The scouts in my van!

More organized chaos.  Getting a head count.

This was so impressive.  As each scout troop drove into camp there were three scouts on each side saluting as we drove under the camp sign.  I must admit I got a little misty eyed.

And now we see what it is like to try to heard cats.

Love the sign...'the happiest place in the country'.

Headed to the campsite...through the woods, down the road and then over a bridge...

 More instructions.

Home sweet home for the week.

The unloading begins.

And it continues.

Lost bag is found!

Will it never end?

Checking for BO already?

In line alphabetically for medical form check.

Getting his tent up.

 Cats, cats I'm telling you!

Saying see you in a few days.

Moving things under the big tent so they don't get wet is it should rain while they are down at the lake.  Just in case.  Always be prepared.

Tucking it in.

A little more waiting...in the hot sun...melting...melting into little puddles on the bench.

Heading to pictures and then to the lake for swim tests.

Over 40 proudly representing Troop 468.

I am betting they are going to have the best week of their lives.  That they will sleep all the way home.  And that I fill my van with really good smelling dryer sheets to help cut through the green cloud that will be following these guys home.
