Legacy Bike Trail...Lexington

Seven riders hit the Legacy Trail late one Saturday night.

But before riding we had to check out all living creatures, great and small.

And then we hit the trail.  This is the backside of the lead group.

rolling trail with lots of scenery

And the back of the pack.

The sun is setting and we are pedaling as fast as we can and getting a little help (what is now called a petal push) to make it back to the van while there is still light....

About a quarter of a mile from the finish somehow Alaire went over her handlebars and Cassie was right behind her going over hers.  Me, being the nimble one, (are you kidding, but right then I was)  threw my bike and was on the ground looking for blood in seconds.  Cassie gets to Alaire first.  I'm checking Cassie out for gashes and blood.  None found.  Cassie was calming Alaire down so she could check her out.  Glad to report that because we all were wearing helmets no one was injured.  It could have been really, really, bad.  Alaire shows no signs of any type of injury.  Cassie on the other hand is sore and bruised pretty bad.

Another story that will go down in the family history books.
