18 Mile Bike Hike

That's right...you read it right...18 miles

After the parade and ceremony we decided to dust off the bike rack and head for the bike trail.  Our goal was to ride from Milford to Loveland and got the The Works for lunch.

Getting four adults and three kids ready for a bike hike is just a little tricky.

water bottles, hydraters, snacks, helmets....and the list goes on and on.

Then there are tire pressure and seat height adjustments.

Let me just say that Michael's head has grown just a bit since last bike season.  He now owns my helmet and I was wearing his old one.  Looks like a trip to the bike store for someone.

This trail is going to be so lame for these two because they are used to real mountain bike trails.

Ready to roll.  Pappy was in charge of the photography sessions this trip.  He drove and met us on several spots on the trail.  We never knew when we would see him.

Her little legs never stopped.

He never complained.

She is really sore today in a certain unmentionable place.

The ladies pacer for the day

He just kept going.

I brought up the rear most of the day and that was just fine with me.  Going to have to invest in some biking socks.

Trevor was our floater.  He would float to the front with the kids and then drop back to check on the older crowd.

Here we come...can you see us?

We all had different things we did while we waited for our table.  Some rested.  Other climbed trees.  One investigated the flora around the building.  I just ate in the Adirondack chair in the sun and it felt so warm!

We all filled up on carbs from our pizza.  Hydrated with lots of drinks.  Then the decision was made that Pappy would take the kids and their bikes back home so they could get busy on cake decoration for dessert.  They also needed to set up the obstacle course.  The other adults would ride back.  Trevor took off to see how fast he could finish...just under 35 minutes I think.  Cassie, Emmy and I had a strong more than leisurely ride back.  We saw one wreck...everyone okay but a little bloody

I was the perfect day to ride...not to hot and breezy all the way.  The bike trail was a little crowded so you have to watch for those passing on the left.

Ready to go again...this time stopping at The Schoolhouse for lunch.
