MJHS Pay It Forward Day
Today was the Milford Junior High School PAY IT FORWARD DAY. The idea is for the students and teachers to give back to the community. The students were given choices of what activities would be available...yard work, painting, planting flowers, reading to preschool classes, sidewalk chalk creations, flash mobs...
Our neighbors, Ms Kay and Mr. Bill, had some yard work and painting done by the students. The bus pulled up just as we were leaving to go to preschool...and off they went like a bunch of little ants. So by the time we got back the kids were well into painting Bill's shed and pulling weeds.
Mr. Ackerman, the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Operations, cut the grass. Calling out the big dogs, yes siree.
And there was just a little kid playing...which the yahoos loved.
The students finished in Bill and Kay's yard, so we got a little assistance in leaf removal.
They really know how to pack a truck.
burning bush branch removal
A little bit of backyard swinging.
Carter giving sandbox play instructions.
sod removal...my least favorite job
a little more raking
Everything accomplished and time to spend playing Pappy Says.
Doodles doing what Pappy does...giving direction...and that is exactly what she said.
A great bunch of kids...they can come back anytime!
What a wonderful idea. And what a great way to nudge the kids into thinking of ways that they can give back to their community and make a difference. Well done, well done.
