Wall Builders

Back in April we were making lots of lemonade...(read about it here, just search for lemonade on the side bar in the search spot.)...everything that was going wrong.  It was fun (?) now that we can look back on it. Nah, not really.  After tilling and raking several, I mean several times, and letting the ground settle, we built a little retaining wall.  We have added a few plants and plan to make it into a hosta garden with some bleeding hearts and Solomon's seal, a few Japanese maples, and really what ever Mark buys and brings home.  He has the eye and I have the vision and a good pair of garden gloves.  We make a pretty good team when it comes to yard work.  It may not sound like it sometimes but we like was we have done and we are still married to tell about it.  That must say something.

There are three really ugly green (septic tank covers) things that need to be covered by plant growth.  Next spring we will hide them with lots of hosta that we will dig up from the yard.  We have hosta coming out our ears.  Mark got everything planted (in the rain) before the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy hit our area.

Behind the wall we have thrown some grass seed.  Hopefully it will grow.  Maybe even come back a little more full than the original.  Keep your fingers crossed that we never have to dig it all up again.  If that day ever comes I am out of here!
