Camp Out At Lake Forest

Don't think I have ever had such a jammed packed weekend!  First a camp out with Emmy's kids, Michael and Waytt, pediatrician appointment, baby shower in Huntington and then another camp out at Lake Forest.

We were the only ones in the campground.  It cost us a whopping $2 to camp for a night!

The inside of the tent at 7:30AM.  Cassie seems to be missing.  She opted out of the tent about 3:30ish so Alaire could have a warm sleeping bag.

Ellis and I never left the lake, not like the rest of our campers.  Uncle Kenny brought us a donut and we had a little picnic in the 'thing' down by the lake.

Ellis caught his first fish in the first 30 minutes he had his line in the water.  He was so excited!

The fog was thicker than this when we first started to fish.

Bryce you better watch out he might just become Peep's new Canada fishing buddy.

He never quit.  I did have to make him stand behind the bench when he was casting out.  He made me swallow my tongue just a few times.

Fish two swallowed the hook and we didn't have any pliers.  I worked with that silly fish for 20 minutes and the hook finally came out.  And the fish lived to tell about it!

Fish #3

I figured that it was just about time for him to learn to take his own fish off.  He didn't blink an eye.  Took it off slicker than a whistle.

A little later on in the morning Robin came down to check on us and bring us more donuts and some OJ. She said that we should go to the other side of the lake and fish.  There was a pond and I could fly fish there.  So Ellis jumped in her 'JuneBug' and headed down the road.  On the way I bet we say 10 deer...all eating flowers or bushes in peoples yards.

Ellis checking out the pond, trying to hook a big catfish.

Michael liked doing all of his Ninja moves on the dock with his hiking stick.  Ellis still fishing!

Cassie, Emmy and Alaire all showed off all nice and squeaky clean...they were off to go shopping.

Love the look on his face.  He had never stuck his thumb in a fishes mouth before.

Alaire fishing...right...for about 5 minutes of that.

Robin down by the bank of the lake.

Michael doing his thing!

The boys and I had a hamburger and frosty mug of root beer from Frostop, one of my favorite place to eat when we lived in Huntington.  Yum!!!

And without fail, we always stop at BaskinRobbins for some ice cream before hitting the road back home.

This is always what Ellis looks like after eating ice cream.  I think it is just the cherry on top of the sundae for a great weekend!
