I crossed the line and went into the woods to get some action shots of them coming to the rope obstacle.  

He is counting the milliseconds until he can run his first mud race.

Free food for the athletes

All these muddy shoes will be washed and sent to where adults and children have no money for shoes.

Don't be too surprised if one day you see a YouTube video of the girls 'showering' in the WalMart parking lot.

I have never seen this much mud after a finish.  The only way to get rinsed off was to use the creek just below the finish line.  Not the best to say the very least.  So Pappy got water, towels, washcloths, baby wipes.....anything to try to clean them up just a bit.

Cassie said once she got home she used the Netti Pot and she was still getting dirty, muddy water out of her nose.

Still mud in her hair after all of that.

They had a great time!  And I think will try it again next year!
