Finally Finished...Almost

My goal was to have this finished and hanging on the back fence before my friend from WI came for a visit.  Didn't quite make it.

I'm already planning my next project...a nine patch pattern.

I had my colors all picked out.  Lizzie even suggested some of the favorite colors that she likes to use in her Amish hand made quilts.  

So I took her suggestions and above is what  got.  The star just doesn't pop out at you like it is supposed it.

I think I like this version better.

I have ideas for some more squares...just need to get this one hung.
