Kid Expo At Paddlefest

It's that time again when we get excited about being on the big Ohio River.  We are used to lakes and the Little Miami but tomorrow the Ohio River will be shut down or about 4 hours for only paddle traffic for the 11th Annual  Paddlefest...from Coney Island to the Public Landing in the center of downtown Cincinnati.

Before the water activities start there are lots of kids expos to check out.  We all had to get on the city bus!

Fossils....

fossils...

fossils...

more fossils...

just a few more.

The exhibit was very extensive.  I think the ids would have stayed there all day but it was right dead i the sun.  So we all got pretty HOT!

These are all homemade boomerangs.

This guy could talk about fossils and boomerangs for ever!

He uses various paint techniques...wet spaghetti, wagon wheel noodles...

even paints some freehand.

Everyone getting a lesson before they head to the field to throw.

Giving it his best shot!

A bike safety clinic.  Here Ernie is showing us where the fork on the bike is.

And proper helmet placement.

There were fire trucks to climb on.

A river boat to explore.

Lots of water creatures to hold.

This will someday be a beautiful dragonfly.

After all this excitement we had one more place to stop.

I'd say it was a fun filled exhausting day!  And we still had Scout Twilight Camp to go to.
