Do The Math

March 5th 1952  in Huntington, WV...the first born son came into the family of Keith and Katherine Ellis.  That was 60 years ago..do the math!  WOW!  

We did a little bit of celebrating at one of Mark's favorite Mexican restaurants...Cazadores in Milford.

All the kids were there...Cassie and Trevor with Ellis and Alaire, Emmy, Sarah, Bryce and Tini and of course Mark, Michael and I.  Emmy and Trevor were probably causing trouble at their end of the table.

Emmy and Cassie came up with the greatest idea....get in touch with friends, past and present and have them send a memory.  Let me just tell you that we were brought to tears from laughing and actual tears remembering all the times that people wrote about.  Mark's girlfriend from his senior year, good friends that moved to VA while we were on our honeymoon, Circuit City people, friends and neighbors from OH, WV and WI, youth group members, church members...they were all priceless!  I am sure that we will read and reread them several times.  We made him read some before our dinner came.  I am sure the people around us thought we were all crazy!  Who care...that seems to be the norm.

Cassie made an Ally Pally Cake (their traditional birthday cake cake)

We didn't quite have 60 candles but we had a bunch.  So many that he needed a little help blowing them out.

It took several attempts to get them all out!

I can't believe that we didn't set off the smoke alarm.  I was hoping to sneak a little Ally Pally cake snack during nap time today but that won't be happening...someone ate it all!
