Cincinnati Zoo and A Few
Before we even get started on the actual HallZOOween blog I have to let you know about Cassie's creative genius! Well, she may have had just a little bit of help with her two very funny and creative children. Ellis decided that this year for Halloween he wanted to be a super hero. Not just any super hero but BOLT! The Alaire seeing how cute the costume was decided that she wanted to be none other that EXCLAMATION GIRL!...fits her personality just perfect. I have been making a few t-shirt quilts so the last time we were in Lexington I took a bag of scraps and Cassie used the scraps to make two entire outfits. AWESOME!
HallZOOween is one of our favorite times to visit the zoo. Everyone and their brother dresses up and you get to see the animals and trick-or-treat...what could be better?
The Jack-o-lanterns are always amazing!
The animals are always excited for this time of year.
There are tons of trick-or-treat stations all throughout the zoo.
The animals love it because the get special Halloween treats like small pumpkins.
We missed the gorillas getting their pumpkins. It really must have been something to see...there were pumpkin pieces all over their enclosure! What a fun mess.
Super Heroes not only can fly and leap over tall buildings...they can climb on everything!
A little bit of congestion at the T-or-T table.
He looks sad...kinda like he missed out on all the treats...no one must have shared with him.
Michael's favorite zoo animal.
I some how got stuck on the carousel...not my favorite thing...I don't do anything that goes in circles.
Super Heroes don't hold on.
Ms Renee, she was calling your name!
I am shocked that she was not standing in the saddle!
Looking for the polar bear.
She looks like she is smiling.
I can't miss a trip to feed the loarakeets. Best $2 I spent all day.
Ellis loves them too. Cassie and Alaire sat outside the cage and waited for us. We would have stayed there for hours with birds walking up our arms and walking on our heads. They are so funny.
I love the rich colors in this shot. Wish the peacock would have been looking at the camera.
But all Zoo fun must come to an end because we had to get home to eat dinner because it was going to be campfire and s'more time.
Doodles and her Dad showed up to join us. The plan before I got sick was to the zoo and then go camping at Valley View. Decided that we should wait until I could take a breath without coughing to give camping a try.
S'mores were just the ticket right before bedtime.
The rainbow chairs got a workout with all of us huddles around the campfire.
Michael loves his big sister, I know he does, but he just goes to pieces when she teases him. And she does it unmercifully. To get his goat she put on his pj's. She drives him crazy!
To top the night off Ellis and Alaire got to sleep in the new bunk beds in the train room. Everything was great until 4:45AM. Funny no one but me heard Alaire screaming at the top of her lungs for a night light. Funny how that whole thing works.
