Church On Your 'Birthday'

Alaire's birthday isn't actually for another few weeks but to get us all together and down to KY for a soccer game and birthday is quiet a big adventure.  So she is getting to celebrate a birthday weekend with us and then another birthday with Trevor's side of the family.  My kind of celebration.

We got to meet the family that Trevor lived with before the rest of the Oakes made the trek cross country to KY.  This is one of the son's and Ellis is showing him how he can tie his shoes now.

The Children's Program is really impressive.  Each week after church they have a 'get together' and sing and play games and have a drama Bible lesson.  There is always a Minute To Win It  challenge.  The kids all put their names in a big bucket and one lunch contestant is chosen.  This week it just happened to be one of Ellis's buddies.

Not only do the kids get to have fun on stage...so do the parents...or in this case Pappy's too.  Their challenge...they were given two Wickie sticks.  Create something in 30 seconds.  They created a cross, a lasso and Pappy disguised himself as a walrus.  Creative genius at work!

There is lots of singing and dancing.  Alaire hardly sits in her seat.  And I can tell you that when God passed out rhythm, he must have sneeze and forgot to give her any.  she comes by it honest...Cassie and I can't dance either.

Two of her best big girlfriends.

Let me warn you that the quality is poor and the sound is worse.  The room was totally dark except for the stage and there were lights circling the room.  And the music was LOUD.  But you have to have the sound up to hear her 'sing.  Remember to mute the music on the blog before you click play.

They were so excited for us to be able to be there and go to Kid's Stuff with them.  It is a great place to be.  Lots of energy. Lots of dancing.  Lots of singing.  And lots of LOVE!
