Balloon Launch At Coney Island

The Balloon Launch/Race was supposed to take place last weekend but because of bad weather expected it was postponed until today.  Mark said it was the best $7 for parking he ever spent!  I think he is hooked for next year.

The start was delayed for about 30 minutes because there was a big dark cloud hanging around.  The balloonists were given a choice to launch or stay tethered and let people take a short trip up and down.

This is he second or third balloon launch.

After the launch the balloons traveled down the Ohio for a little bit towards the city and then over in KY to land.  The winner was the balloon that landed close to the target.  I'll have to check around to see which balloon won.  We were following the chase cars and while we were on Columbia Parkway headed for home we saw this balloon not too far from the surface of the river.
