Heading Down The Highway...

Once again we jump in the van and head south to Lexington, KY.  I just love that I can say and do that!  But first we had to obtain 'special permission' for some precious cargo...DoodleBop went with us!  OH my!  Can that child talk a blue streak!  She is soooo much like her Daddy!

Ellis is now playing soccer...first time for any organized sport and he is soooo excited.  Soooo nervous.  Soooo much fun in store for all his adoring fans.  He is playing with Upward...click to check out their sports programs for kids.

So be ready for lost more action shot as the season progresses.  Peep get out your calendar so we can schedule a game or two.  And Mamaw and Papaw videos will be coming your way shortly!

Pappy showed up with some cleats, a new ball and shin guards...gotta be equipped.

Had to have a little backyard practice...breaking it all in so it doesn't look brand new.

Got to get some pointers from the peanut gallery too.

I think by the looks of this he might just be going pro.

And what kind of Pappy would Pappy be if he didn't have a pink get up for the MVSWBP...Most Valuable Soccer Want-To-Be Player?

Looking fine

A trading card in her future perhaps?

It sure is hard work getting to KY in that blue van.

I know someone that is going to sleep really well tonight.

He is about to burst he is so excited!

This is where it all begins.

The unveiling of the uniform.

Trying it on to see if it will fit...looks great to me.  Love the colors.  #6 is our favorite players number.

But Mom, why can't I wear it today?

uniform shirt...check     water bottle...check     car magnet...check     socks...check

You know they have traveling teams...well this is the traveling cheering section for the SHARKS.  But I want all to notice Cassie with her lovely face and her 'Aunt Kate' finger.  Crack me up!   About the finger I mean.  Sorry about the face Cassie...this is the only pic I have of the adoring fans.

Before each practice and game there will be prayer.  The athletes will memorize Bible verses and be given rewards for memorizing them.  There is a lot more to this program that just kicking the ball around and scoring goals.

I need to mention that if anyone wants a SHARK team one of a kind, Mommy made SHARK shirt...PLEASE CONTACT CASSIE.

She is taking it all in...wonder if she will want to play next year?

I have a feeling this might be the first time these kids have ever payed an organized sport...let alone ever payed soccer.  Cassie put it so aptly...'it's like herding cats'.

Getting some tips about using angles in math to score goals from anywhere near the goal.

One more practice before the big game.  It should be interesting.  Most of the other teams practicing tonight look just about the same skill wise as the SHARKS.  So it will be very interesting.  Going to be herding lots of cats!!!!

FYI...If you want to experience all the action...check out Mark Ellis on FaceBook...there's video
