River Rats on The Little Maimi

We just got out of the car from a mega vacation car ride but got right back in and strapped the kayaks to the top then headed to the Little Miami.

Alaire was ready for swimming, tubing and/or kayaking down the river.

But first to launch the kayaks.  We searched out the river...with a little help from a map we got from Roads Rivers and Trails in Old Milford...great shop...118 Main Street...and Emmy's phone.  Oh and I almost forgot, the man that was cutting his grass.

Cassie and Emmy decided that it would be best to give the little ones a half paddle so they could feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme....of kayaking down the river.

A little practice before going down the river...actually a lot of waiting because Michael decided that he wanted to go.

Emmy and Ellis working those paddles.

Michael sent them to the island to explore and tell him all about it.

Today was a great day to go because our sweat was sweating.

Cassie, Emmy and the kids built a cairns...or a rock statue as Cassie calls them.

Still waiting for Mark to show up wit Michael's kayak.  Only later to discover that Mark decided that he would go down the river with them.

Even in the water she looks hot!

Texting Trevor to tell him he was missing it.

Emmy just looking pretty on the river.

Ellis is more than ready to get going.  I heard that he got to tube down the 'ruffles' as Alaire calls them.

You can tell that we are newbies to the Little Miami.   My job was to take pics of them coming down the river and bring lunch for a picnic about half way down.  Well that never happened.  I go no pics and lunch was at the end. (You might check Cassie's blog for those shots.) I really don't think anyone cared but I know they were staving.

Emmy is already planning another trip for Saturday.
