Non Stop Weekend

Lisa is here! Lisa was a college student who was employed by Shepherd's Ministries in WI for a summer while we lived there. A friend of our at the time worked there and had recruited a few extra college students...but didn't have beds for all of them. That is when Lisa, Heidi and Jack came into our lives. For one summer they lived with us and worked at Shepherd's. Jack and Heidi moved on to marriage and bigger and better things. Lisa became our Iowa born daughter. She was Michael's babysitter. So while we were vacationing at the beach I got a call and she said she wanted to come for a very long overdue visit. She arrived on Thursday night and we haven't stopped talking, laughing, eating, and crying.
But first things first...Michael has been having a little friend withdrawal.  He and Wyatt could be twins separated at birth.  They love the same thing...yes, yes they do!  So Michael and Wyatt laughed and giggled all the way to Jungle Jim's.

Jungle Jim's is an International Market.  It is like nothing else I have ever seen.  People come from mile to experience it.  They have everything under the sun and then some.  Wyatt gave us a little lesson on the pitcher plant.  Quite interesting!
There is an Olive  Bar with literally 30 different kinds of olives.

A Salsa Bar...we brought home four very different kinds of salsa.  They even had some ghost pepper salsa.

For all my WI friends...
This bathroom was voted the best bathroom in 2008.  Cute idea!
How about some chicken feet?.
Or a head of a hog?

An entire duck?

Or maybe just a head or two?
green bean Popsicles?  Michael says that that just isn't right.

There are so many funny stories to tell but just not enough time to tell them all.  The boys had a great time and we came home with all sorts of strange things....anyone want to come over for dinner this week?

Sometime after going to Jungle Jim's we stopped and had lunch on the way down to Findlay Market...had to buy just a few more food items...Poor Lisa she just got out of a seven hour drive from WI to OH.  What torture...but she was up for just about anything.
I just love a couple of little almost fourth graders.
Best burgers on the planet...bacon and smoked cheddar burgers or my favorite...kitchen sink burgers.
I know...strange to see me in a shot.  I wanted Mark to get a shop of the beautiful painted building with their colorful window boxes.

These were the inspiration for our window boxes on the back side of the house.
This winter we are going to build seven more for the rest of the windows.
After lunch we told the boys that we were going to get some ice cream...really it is gelato.

Wyatt chose rose petal and peach basil.  He gave Mr. DOJO a BIG smile and two thumbs up.

Lisa enjoying her DOJO.  Check them out on FaceBook...they post their flavors daily.  You won't believe some of the combinations...and I have NEVER had any I don't like.
