Good Old Fashioned Fun

We had some very special company last night...Grace and Libby?  Our house overflows with company...just the way we like it!  On the spur of the moment and with a crazy decision...we had our first campout/sleepover of the almost summer.  After dinner we started a campfire...which is really hard to d when you only have newspaper and lots of wet wood.
We were able to just get enough fire to get a few coals for some good burning of the marshmallows for the s'mores.

Grace was more than just a little excited when she found out we were going to have a campfire.  That girl can put away some s'mores.

We haven't seem Libby for awhile. She had gotten taller and her hair has grown since she was last here. She is still a good hugger and quite the fire builder.

I think these are the only two girls (that aren't immediate family members) that Michael will have anything to do with. See, he is actually touching them and letting them touch him...amazing!

Peep and stitch had to get in on the act too. They came out and sat in the way of the smoke and had a few s'mores.

We have to get Emmy and Libby's picture while we can because next time we see her she might be in high school.
Ahhh, sleeping in the tent. The night air was registering around 65 degrees when we went to bed around 11PM. And I swear to you that it was around 85 in the tent. But then it started to cool off and we needed a little more than a sheet...so around 1:30Am I scrounged up a quilt for everyone.

So it is 5:30AM and I can hear the dog barking in her kennel and I am getting the monkey bread ready for the troops.  It is going to be another fun filled day around here for sure!

Our strong and mighty hikers getting ready to head to the Cincinnati Nature Preserve.

One crazy Momma duck sitting on eggs right at the entrance to Newtown Farmer's Market.

Peep and I met the hot and very tired hikers at the Newtown Farmer's Market for lunch.  They have the best sandwiches.  And oh Yes, according to Peep he was the millionth customer and he won free milkshakes for the kids..wink wink.  They thought it was great!
