Scenery Along The Way
I think I might want to invest in one of those train cars that has the bubble at the top where they have an observation seat. I wonder if we could convert one of those into some sort of van so I could just sit up there and see for miles and miles. When I found something to take a shot of I could somehow signal Mark to with slow down or pull over. I think could open a little window and get the perfect shot with out getting our and causing a scene or getting myself nearly run over. Just thinking. Maybe Michael could draw up the specs for one?
Driving down Rt 32 just after the rest stop they are remodeling, we saw this huge bunch or turkey just taking their good old sweet time walking from one end of this field to the other. We put the van in reverse and changed lanes so I could risk life and limb, trip down a hillside and almost end up in water up to my knees to get a closer look. If you look close enough there are a few white and light gray turkeys mixed in. How could that be? Where was Curt when you needed him?
You know you are among the Amish when laundry is out on a pulley line at 9:30AM on a day when the temp is around 50 degrees. I loves this, it makes me smile...really big!

Mark liked this tractor. It goes with the animals below and another blog that I will do later about the 'Clothesline of Quilts' that you can find on my quilting blog, Pressing My Seams Open..
The man that owns the tractor and these animals was so nice. He let us drive almost up to the barn to get some shots of the quilt painting. He retired 4 years ago and decided that it was time to get his farm back in order. He ran heavy machinery. Lots of people have stopped by to get shots of the barn. I could have stayed for some iced tea on the porch but er had more barns to see before we had to head back to the Big City.
One of our last stops on the tour was right by the Ohio River. In the picture the river looks like it is running backwards because the wind was blowing the opposite way. For someone that spent weekends on the Ohio River with my family, grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins...it seemed really weird.
