Fall on The Farm

Michael and I headed out on a recommendation this morning. But first we had to stop at Rouster's for some apple cider and honey crisp apples. I am going to try a new apple crisp recipe. The one that I have is awesome, it was given to me by Linda Cummings some 30 years ago. The original hand written note card is in tatters. But it is the best you ever ate. Wouldn't hurt to have a back up recipe. We set the GPS to the address and were off...down two lane country roads. The scenery was so pretty, the sun was just right. I wanted to stop and take pictures of every barn I saw but it is just a little challenging trying to scope out stuff, watching abd listening to the lady on the GPS, pull over and stop, take the shot and then be on our way again. I think Michael could be getting a digital camera for his birthday/Christmas...he has a good eye.
From the air the corn maze is a huge pirate ship. There are several locations that give you something to think about doing around Cinti. The good thing, all that we found we have already done.

There was some pretty tall and very, very dry corn. Both of us started sneezing so we hightailed it out of there really quick.

On the way to the car we stopped to get some shots of the sunflower field.

Sunflowers are some of my most favorite flowers. Did I tell you that my grandson in the champion sunflower grower in our family? He is awesome. Wonder where he gets his green thumb?

There were a couple too many bees for my taste. We don't get along too well. So we bypassed the whole maze to go in search of caramel apples.

One happy camper...one sunflower really easy and cool bird feeder...one plain caramel apple and one smothered in peanuts...need I say more?
A few blogs back Cassie made a suggestion that I start a seventh blog...Eating Our Way Thru OHIO. I'm thinking that after the first of the year I might have to consider that. Best caramel apple I have had in a long time. I might just have to go back next weekend to get another. So look out Fall on The Farm Blooms & Berries.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my loving sister Cassie for putting yet another CRAZY idea in my mother's head. Great now I am never going to see her or the computer! Oh but don't worry I will be the 1st to volunteer to help choose and eat at anywhere that mom would like for her new blog!
